American IDOL

First, there is a fourth judge. Grammy-nominated songwriter Kara DioGuardi is joining regulars Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell on the judging panel, revealed executive producer Ken Warwick.

DioGuardi is one of the most sought-after songwriters and producers in the industry. Her songs have appeared on more than 100 million records and been recorded by Grammy award-winning artistes such as Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani, Celine Dion, Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood, Santana, and Pink.

Yeah, she co-wrote "I'm Feelin' You" for Michelle Branch (and Jessica Harp), and "Cry Baby Cry" (with Sean Paul and Joss Stone), both from Santana's All That I Am album.

That album was not necessarily Carlos' best work, but those two are solid pop songs.
